Organizational excellence is becoming highly reliant on proper cross-functional teamwork that combines quality management and innovativeness capabilities. Nevertheless, the available research investigated these areas mostly on an individual level, thus having minimal insights about their organizational interdependences in relation to network-based modeling. This paper suggests a Network-Based Organizational Excellence Modeling Framework that can be used to describe the relationships between leadership, quality, innovation, knowledge sharing and operational functions. The systematic literature review involved 152 peer-reviewed articles found in Scopus and Web of Science and the conceptual framework was developed and a network model was created. The proposed framework assesses the organizational excellence based on nine organizational dimensions and creates a complex Organizational Excellence Index (OEI). As the sensitivity analysis shows, a 20% enhancement of cross-functional collaboration would enhance the OEI by about 16.8% and a 15%improvement in innovation capability would bring the performance of the organization up by 12.9%. The framework also offers a practical decision support tool to managers so as to maximize quality, innovation and organizational excellence to assist in strategic planning that is evidence based and to enable business competitiveness that is sustainable.
