A Digital Quality Twin Framework for Real-Time Organizational Performance Assessment and Continuous Business Excellence

Abstract

The accelerated pace of digital transformation has escalated the need to have smart systems that can constantly evaluate the organizational performance and facilitate sustainable business excellence. The conventional methods of organizational performance measurement are mainly based on a periodic analysis and single key performance indicators, which restrict their capacity to give timely information to improve the quality proactively and strategic decision making. This study will address the above limitations by proposing a Digital Quality Twin Framework of real-time organizational performance evaluation and business excellence that should be continuous. The framework generates an aligned digital vision of the organizational activities through the combination of enterprise data, quality indicators, operational activities, performance analytics into a single decision-support environment. The performance of an organization is measured by detailed measures such as Organizational Performance Index (OPI), Process Efficiency (PE), Productivity Rate (PR), Resource Utilization (RU), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), Innovation Capability Index (ICI) and Business Excellence Index (BEI). The suggested framework facilitates ongoing monitoring, dynamic performance assessment, identifying anomalies, and supporting decision-making based on data to improve the organization. The effectiveness of the proposed framework was tested based on representative organizational performance databases and benchmark evaluation techniques to validate it experimentally. The findings prove that the Digital Quality Twin can be more accurate in assessing organizational performance, better at monitoring its operations, more responsive to managers, and more effective to evaluate business excellence than its traditional assessment methods. The suggested framework adds a feasible and scalable approach to combining Quality 4.0 technologies with organizational performance management to allow smart real-time quality measurement and ongoing business excellence of current businesses.
